    9ct Gold Rings – FAQs

Is 9ct gold good for everyday rings?

Absolutely. 9ct gold is an excellent choice for everyday wear. Because it is solid 9ct gold, it will not tarnish or peel like plated jewellery. It is specifically designed for "busy hands"—the alloyed metals make it more durable and scratch-resistant than 18ct gold. While you can safely wear your rings in the shower or at the gym (no more annoying on-and-off!), we recommend removing them during heavy chores or when using harsh chemicals to maintain their high-shine finish.

Can I wear a 9ct gold ring with stones every day?

While the gold itself is incredibly resilient, the gemstone’s durability depends on its hardness. For a daily-wear 9ct gold ring with stone, we recommend prioritizing harder gems such as Diamonds, Sapphires, Topaz, Aquamarine, or Tourmaline. For softer stones like Opals or Emeralds, we suggest a more dedicated care routine to protect them from accidental scratches.

What is the difference between 9ct yellow, white, and rose gold?

All three are genuine 9ct gold (375 hallmark) but use different alloy blends to achieve their hue. 9ct yellow gold rings use silver and copper for a traditional sun-kissed glow; 9ct white gold is often finished with a rhodium plating for a brilliant silver mirror-shine; and 9ct rose gold rings use a higher copper content to create that signature romantic pink blush.

How do I know if my 9ct gold ring is genuine?

Every genuine piece will feature a hallmark, typically stamped on the inside of the band. Look for the number “375” or the “9ct” mark. These stamps can be quite small and may require a jeweller’s lens (loupe) to see clearly. If you are ever unsure, a professional jeweller can easily verify the gold's purity for you.

Are 9ct gold gemstone rings “real gold”?

Yes — 9ct is legally recognised as real gold, but with a lower gold content than 18ct or 22ct pieces.
